The Iguazu Falls reached on the morning of last Tuesday, 18, the top rank of competition to be one of the seven new wonders of nature. The election – which entered its third phase in late July – has 28 competitors from around the world and should be completed in late 2010.
The vote at this stage can only be done via the Internet (www.votecataratas.com) and the surfer who wants to help elect the Falls must vote first on our attraction and only then choose the other six competitors. The position of voting directly interferes with attractive notes that each receives.
In addition to other Niagara attractions who pontificate in the first seven positions are in order of vote: Great Barrier Reef, Australia; Komodo National Park in Indonesia, Halong Bay, Vietnam; Amazon, which competes in nine countries, the Maldives located in the Indian Ocean and in seventh position, the Angels Falls, attraction of Venezuela.
